EM also may react differently than derm (though I doubt it). As a resident who matched into derm, I will say do as many as you can. In my experience, each away converted to an interview, and I ended up matching at a program I rotated with. As someone who matched from a school without a program do as many as possible.

Personally, I don't think it's that big of a deal. Most programs focus on Step 1, and your step 1 score is perfectly average for dermatology. I used to think that Step 1 and 2 scores mattered a lot, and they do, but mostly for screening purposes.
